Hi Josh and Evelyn,

Her are weblinks about the cruise and the research goals.
http://www.odu.edu/sci/oceanography/hotrax/index_leg2.htm

Make sure to click the ship track also. You will see we go over the North Pole!
Here are some goals:
1. Use multibeam acoustics to find favorable sites for high sedimentation rates with targeted areas (Sites 1-9 on ship’s track).
2. Obtain crossing lines of CHIRP seismic and sidescan sonar for core locations in order to determine core site setting.
3. Collect one multicore and one or two piston cores at each core site depending on recovery and local setting. Occasional box cores will be taken as needed.

Your question is a very good one and I will answer it in my teacher log.

I can hardly wait to read all about your trek.

It's got to be the most fantastic experience you'll have ever had...

well, up to now...

'cause you're so adventurous that, no doubt, there'll be LOTS MORE after this.

WOW!!! wink.gif
