Hi Sebastian and Tobias,

The trip is a bit dangerous if you don’t watch out. The ship is huge, has steep ladders, lots of iron and is very open. One has to hold on to something at all times. At the fantail we have to wear a helmet and a mustang suit for protection. Heavy things get lifted by cranes and the decks can have a thin, slippery ice sheet on it. So, open eyes and thinking help to prevent accidents. When we go on the ice one has to watch were to go. Melt ponds can be covered by snow and it is easy to break through the ice. There are polar bears as well. So, watch out!

Viele Gruesse,

Ute
