Using Geographic Information to Learn about the Arctic
Attached is a computer-based activity for high school students. It starts by guiding them through an activity defining the Arctic, then shows students using free image analysis software how to quantify the differences between the area covered by ice in the summer vs that in the winter and concludes in an activity where the student analyzes ice cap decline in both the winter and summer months. Please e mail me with any problems and/or faults that you find in this activity since links do change.
