What are your plans?
Greetings Matt!
The simple reply is "doing science in the Arctic" Actually, I will be doing much much more. I'm learning about living and working in a completely new environment. I'm really excited about learning about polar lifestyles since I spent time in Palau learning about tropical lifestyles and environments in 1994.
Very briefly, I will travel to Thule Air Force Base in Thule, Greenland on 10 July 2005. Once there, I will be serving as a member of a National Science Foundation Research Team that is studying the carbon and water cycles of the Arctic. One of the things we will try to learn about is "How is global warming affecting the Arctic climate?" I will then return to Missouri around July 30, 2005.
John
