![]() I have not seen a polar bear, and I more than likely will not see one until I reach the Arctic Ocean. Polar bears are semi-aquatic animals. They hunt for seals so they need to be near the water. A few years ago a polar bear was lost and found its way to Toolik Lake Research Station. Michelle first wanted to become a scientist when she was in 9th grade Biology--Mrs. Smithburg's Biology class. She studied ecology at the Evergreen State College, and then did a Ph.D. in Integrative Biology at U.C. Berkeley. But probably the real reason that Michelle became a scientist is that plants are neat! |
