Dear Mrs Nikula Ohlsen,
Today it's 10:31 on sunday July 2006
and yesterday was my friends Birthday party
and she just turned 9. it was so hot down in Seattel,
it got to 95 degreese. And last week we ( Oilvia Emiliana and I)
went to our babysitters Andrea's. But we mostley went swimming.

Is it hot in the Kuiri Islands? The last weeks were very interesting
It was really cold 2 weeks ago and last week it was really hot.
Do you know why the wether would be that way?

What kinds of things do they sell in Russhian Bazzars?
and is bazzar is like a mall in America? I here they have good food in Russa.

It is definitely NOT hot in the Kurils.  Each day it has been more foggy than clear, though occasionally we have seen the sun.  Mostly it has been windy and cool.  We keep our jackets on most days, except when we are digging. The weather can change a lot from day to day in Washington depending on what kind of air masses (warm, cold, wet, dry) are moving through and where they came from. They sell all kinds of things in the Russian Bazaar.  It is like a bit swap meet or flea market where every vendor has different things.  It's not like a mall, because it is outside mostly and it has food and clothes and everything else.  You have to search a lot to find what you want, but the prices are on everything, so it's not too hard to buy things, even if you don't speak much Russian. The food here on the ship has been pretty good.  Lots of meat and either potatoes, rice or noodles.  We always have soup with lunch.  The meat has sometimes been "interesting" and not always something that we can identify, but usually quite tasty.  Tonight we had meatballs and rice.   Very yummy.
Hope you are having a nice summer!
