TREC Virtual Base Camp _ Ask the Teacher (Bob) or the Scientist Team _ Human Disruption

Posted by: Dave Seduski Dec 23 2005, 02:37 PM

Mr. Oddo, once you studied the ice cores and you found out that the layers were decreasing, is there any way to prove human involvement? Can it all be explained by some natural phenomenon, or can this be directly linked to human development in other parts of the world.

Hey Dave,
We were studying layers of sediment on the bottom of lakes, not ice cores in the glacier. But it is very difficult link changes in the cores to human disturbance. Thanks for the question.
