Kevin & Mike,
What time is sunrise and sunset at the Summit? Looking at the webcam pictures it looks like the sun just slips under the horizon before it rises again. Is it always daytime ? And if it is, are you having a hard time adjusting to the constant light?

Hi J&K. We currently have 24 hours of sunshine! May 7, 2006 was the first day of 24 hours of sunshine here at Summit. We will have 24 hours of sunshine through August 5, 2006. On August 6, the sun will set for only 51 minutes. After August 6, Summit will experience longer hours of night each night until November 14. On November 14, Summit will begin its period of 24 hours of darkness.

It has been hard to adjust to the constant sunlight. One "night", I woke up in a panic with the sun shining in my face. I thought I overslept but it was only 4:30 a.m. On another "night", I was writing a teacher's journal and wasn't tired at all. When I looked at the clock, it was 12:30 a.m. I forced myself to try to go to sleep.

Thanks for your question.
