Today I received the latest issue of The Caliper from Vernier Software. Inside the journal is a really neat article about using motion dectectors to study glacial ablation--how quickly the surface of a glacier recedes due to solar radiation. I was impressed by the creativity of the project. Once again, I am reminded that "Only our self-imposed limits prevent our creativity from enabling us to develop novel solutions to unique problems" Clearly, we must think about how we can use, and adapt, our current technology to explore our natural world.
