I couldn't leave today's posting without writing about icebergs again. This evening as I sat on the ridge above the bay I listened to the ice. In the distance thunderous crashes, like massive explosions, rumbled in the background as the giant chunks of ice fell from the glacier, plunging into the bay and bounding up in a sea of spray. A new iceberg had just been created.

Across the bay, filling with icebergs and sea ice, pieces of ice sometimes crashed into each other, filling the air with sounds like breaking glass. Although the waters were calm, they were alive with sounds as the icebergs drifted slowly across the waters, their massive bulks colliding and smashing into everything in their way.
