Resource 1: IceNews
IceNews is an information and outreach website for teachers interested in Polar Science. It is also the home of the Teachers Experiencing Antarctica and the Arctic Alumni Network. Through this online resource past TEA teachers, researchers and associates can stay connected. The website is setup as an online newspaper/magazine. Anyone can submit materials for publication. Click here for the IceNews website. or email Steven Stevenoski <stevesteve@charter.net> for more information. Resource 2: Polar Education List Serve ARCUS (Arctic Research Consortium of the U.S.) has set up an electronic discussion list to facilitate discussions among educators, researchers, and community members and to support the development of a networked virtual community of people working in various aspects of polar science education. This list allows educators, researchers, and learners to exchange information about opportunities, challenges, methods, resources, important events, and other useful topics. The list is moderated but participatory so any subscribed user may post information or respond to posts. To Subscribe Go To: http://archive.arcus.org/education/educationlist/index.html If you wish to unsubscribe from the list, follow the information located at: http://archive.arcus.org/education/educationlist/index.html The list also includes a daily digest function (compilation of messages occurs at 8:00 p.m. Alaska time daily). You can change your subscription to the digest form by sending the following command to <requests_list@arcus.org>: subscribe digest education_list To post a message to the education list you must be subscribed to the education list. If you are subscribed you simply address a message to <education_list@arcus.org> and it is sent out to all members of the list. There are some important list rules for posting messages: 1) attachments are rejected 2) messages larger than 512k are rejected 3) HTML mail is stripped of its HTML... and if it cannot be stripped the message is rejected. These rules are to keep the list simple and free of spam. |
