HELLO Ms. Pierce, Salomi here from your 4th hour class!

What kind of ducks do you band and how far do you go to band the ducks?.,,.because it sounds far; you gotta get on a plane and fly somewhere.. i thought you could like take a honda and jes go down the coast, but it would take a long time. Also, the other question i was gonna ask you is that does the sunset set in August or does it even matter?

Hi Salomi!

We banded snow geese! Have you ever seen any around Barrow, maybe if you've been out camping? We went to the Ikpikpuk and Piasuk River deltas which are about 60 miles east of Barrow at Smith Bay. It would have taken a long-time to go by 4-wheeler, we we flew out there by plane and helicopter!

The first sunset at the end of the summer was on August 2nd. That first sunset marks the time when we start losing sunlight. That continues until the sun sets for the last time in November, on the 19th! Right? So, we are about halfway there! Enjoy the sunlight while you can because we will be losing it quickly in the next few months.
