Hi Pedro. That is a great question. There are no stores for hundreds and hundreds of miles. We must get everything flown in by plane. It is like living on an island where you can't grow any of your food because instead of soil you have snow covering the ground.

The staff at the camp makes sure that we always have enough food. They tell people in Kangerlussauq what we need and then it gets sent on the next plane. Today, it is May 26. I don't think that the next plane comes back until June 4.

We also have a freezer to freeze food. It really isn't a freezer like you have at home. It is a big hole in the ground with steps. The cooks plan the meals in advance because it can take 2 to 3 days for some food to thaw out.

Thanks for the question.
