Posted by: Megan UVMS May 25 2006, 01:20 PM

Dear Patty,
This is the third time i have wrote to you, and i was wondering why you havnt replied. Its ok if you cant , but id like to hear what you have been doing in the trip. I also dont want to make you feel bad, but i was wondering where you are. Have you gotten of the boat to explore yet? Are you going to? If you do/ did is it cool? I was hoping that you would get back to me ASAP, because my topic on page 2 is on 0 replies and every one before and after me have replies. I was wondering why that is. So if you can, please reply to me. I would really appriciate that. Thanks, and have a great time on the boat, and also, is it warm there? I would like to know that too!!!!!!!!!! Sorry for being so impatient, i know that you are busy, so once again, have a great time, and land safely!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! huh.gif

Hi Megan,

Sorry -- I don't always get the posting sent to me, and I have to answer them through e-mail, because it is difficult to get a good internet connection all the way out here on the Healy. I have gotten off the boat to explore! I took a helicopter to St. Lawrence Island a while back, and I also got lucky enough to join one of the scientists in a small boat that was lowered down the side of the ship in an attempt to track seals. I hope this answered your earlier question from page 2 (since I can't access the page, I can't see your earlier question!). It is not warm here at all! It is very cold! It is 45 degrees F, but when the wind blows (and it almost always does) it feels much colder. I have to wear a warm down jacket and many layers of clothes to stay warm.

Thanks,
Patty
