Posted by: Germany/Neumühler School Mrs. Bo Sep 14 2005, 07:05 PM

Dear Ute,

how are you? When will you arrive the North Pole. Are you on time? And how far is it from there to Norway?

We have some pupil's who are very intersted in posting some questions and staying in contact. Can you please check the last posted questions from Annemarie, Steffi, Johannes, Max, Markus, Laura and Marie. They are from form7.

Thank you very much.
Love, Mrs. Bohnhof

We arrived at the North Pole on 9-12-05, 9:00 am Alaska Time. The announcement came during night that we are 20 mil from the North Pole. We gathered at the ships Bridge and watched the GPS screens. The longitude changed constantly. All meridians meet at the Pole. The Swedish icebreaker Oden arrived with us and we parked the ships close to each other (1/2 mile) so we could visit-Lots of fun walking over the North Pole. We will arrive in Tromso on the 30th of Sep.

From the Pole to Tromso it is about 2300km. However, we will have science stations on the way and we have to change directions depending on the ice conditions.

Due to solar activity we had trouble with the e-mails and the iridium conections!
