Hi David,

That's a good question, but I don't know the answer. But salmon are the most important fish, both for food for the people that live along the river as well as for commecial fisheries. King salmon are running up the Yukon River right now, and later in the summer other species of salmon will appear. We'll try to post some pictures of fish when we are at Pilot Station. The local people (Yupik Eskimos) catch the fish and hang the filets outside to dry. That way the fish can be stored for a long time and then be eaten later.
