If I were to compare Yellowknife to the place where I come from, which is Middlebury, Vermont, there are certainly some things that are similar and some things that are different. The size of Yellowknife actually reminded me of my hometown of Burlington, Vermont--there are many restaurants, hotels and it is also similar because it is located right on a lake. The biggest differences that I noticed are the number of float planes and the different types of trees. In Vermont we have a mixed forest of deciduous and everygreen trees, in Yellowknife, it was mostly just evergreen trees that I saw.
