TREC Virtual Base Camp _ Ask the Teacher (Kevin) or the Scientist (Mike) _ Random Pointless Questions (again/part 2)

I got your reply for my other post. That's really sad that the lost birds die out in the cold. Have you tried saving one? I think you should try to help them. I'm also glad to hear that they have hot chocolate. Oranges are a good snack too tongue.gif . I hope you are having fun. I've always wanted to ride on a snow-mobile... lucky... dry.gif sad.gif . Well now I have some more questions. Are there sertain days that you can just do what ever you want, or is your trip strictly business huh.gif ? Is there anywhere to ski or snow board? I'm guessing not because I looked at your gallery and it looks pretty flat. When you come back I think you should take a snowball with you, as a suvivner. Well. I wish I could ask you a few more questions but I must be off... I've got a... food... in... the oven. I gatta go!

Hi. Mike tried to save a bird three days ago. It landed on the snow next to our satellite camp. He filled a cup with water in case it was thirsty. When we returned, the water was frozen and the bird was gone. I hope he flew away.

For this trip, I am mainly helping Mike and Gayle with their air and snow measurements. I am also performing our 6th grade experiment. I hope you read about it in my teacher's journal. I also get a chance to see what the other scientists are researching. For example, I went by snowmobile to Sandy Site to watch a group of researchers drill an ice core and to watch them measure the types of gases that were down the ice core hole.

It is very flat here but people do love to ski. Many people have cross-country skis. Some people have skate skis. It is like roller-blading on skis. You go really fast. I haven't tried it yet. Mike has tried it. Also, Gayle brought her skis and she skis out to our satellite camp everyday.

I will try to bring back a snowball as a souvenir. I don't think it will make it back to the U.S. though. sad.gif

Bye for now.

P.S. What are you cooking?
