How do you de-veggetate them?

Hi Joseph,
We didn't do any de-vegetating, but we were measuring how much of the habitat that the snow geese were de-vegetating! De-vegetating means that they eventually totally remove the plants from an area. They do this be grubbing, or digging down and pulling up, underground plant parts that are good for eating. (Do you like carrots? Those are good roots to eat!) Once the roots of plants are totally removed, the plants cannot grow back. So, after years of grubbing the habitat will consist of mud! Great question, Ms Pierce |
