Did you bring out a scale onto the Piasuk River Delta when you where weighing the gosling? Or do you have another way of measuring it? By the way what exactly is a "culmen" of a gosling?

Hi Cassandra,

Yes, we brought out spring scales. There's a picture in my journal showing the biologists holding the goose up. The hook on the bottom of the spring scale is hooked onto a string tied around the legs of the snow goose. As you hold up the goose, you can read the scale to see how many grams they weigh!

The culmen is the measurement taken along the top of the goose's bill. You measure from the tip of the bill to the end up between the eyes.
