Hi Kyle,

Sorry it took me a day to circle back to your question. While I am hesitant to say what is always my favorite animal, we saw a polar bear last night a little after midnight. It was a half-mile or so away from the ship on some old ice that piled up against the shore on the eastern edge of Bering Strait. About the same time the sun was setting sidways behind a mountain, which turns out to be a pretty special mountain because it is the end of North America, and it was so clear we could see Russia across the Strait. So that was all pretty special, but to be honest, it is always hard to say what's the best, but I'll remember that hour or so for sure.

Thanks for writing and we'll try to keep you up to date on what we are doing.

Best wishes, Lee
