it must've been really cold in that water...i know i wouldnt be able to do that..some tourists jump in the ocean here at Barrow... its cray

You are right. The water is really cold. I couldn't resist seeing how cold the water was. Our group had to get used to working in the water since we were studying the carbon and water cycles. One spring that we measured was 0 degrees Celsius, the freezing point of water. There are some great pictures of us working in the water in the sections on South River and the Green Valley.
