The thermodynamic evolution of the ice cover is strongly influenced by the physical properties of the ice. These physical properties include ice temperature, salinity, density, brine volume and permeability. Ice cores were routinely taken to measure these properties. Welcome fellow adventurers!

The Student Journal has all the worksheets that you will need for each day of the Arctic Alive expedition. Each worksheet corresponds to a lesson that your teacher will give to you that day. You will need to print out the worksheet so you can fill it out. All worksheets are available for downloading in either a PDF or MS Word format.

Once you have all the worksheets completed, you will have a journal that will show what you have learned during this expedition! Have fun and see you out on the sea ice!
